Unfazed by the comings and goings of music trends, Sydney-based garage pop revivalists BLAND live their lives with one foot in the present and another firmly planted in the past. Pairing 80s pop and modern DIY, BLAND call to mind a rich Australian heritage of jangly guitar arrangements, distinctive vocals and songwriting that celebrates the minutiae of suburban life and relationships.

BLAND have been one of the better-kept secrets in Sydney’s music scene since debuting their live show in 2016, landing the group support slots for the likes of Gum, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever and Body Type. Most recently, BLAND were asked to joing the lineup for I Oh You’s stage at the 2017 King Street Crawl, playing alongside DZ Deathrays, Mossy, Straight Arrows and more.

Released in August 2017, BLAND’s debut single ‘Can’t Talk About It’ has enjoyed airplay on Triple J, 2SER and 4ZZZ, as well as playlist additions at FBi Radio, Triple J Unearthed and Edge Radio in Hobart.

“It’s got spirit and a refreshing splash of personality that you just want to throw over your shoulder and carry with you wherever you go. 4 Stars”
– Dave Ruby Howe, triple j Unearthed Music Director

“What a courageous blend of layered, jangly guitar. Those vocals are a unique touch too! 4.5 stars” – Claire Mooney, triple j Unearthed Australian Music Producer
